Wigs can be a really great addition to the costume. For those of us who draw the line at growing out our hair (or cutting it off) three or four feet or just can't get that particular shade of pink that we need, wigs are the next best thing. However, wigs can be a real pain to take care of. Synthetic wigs can matt easily and even the most careful brushing often pulls out a lot of the hair.

But sometimes, you really need that wig to finish out your costume.

While one member of MOCHI is known for going through hair colors like they were candy, other members of MOCHI have taken the plunge into the wide, wild world of wigs. With some helpful advice, it's been a relatively painless process. We've collected some of the things we've learned (the hard way!) and sorted them out in various categories.

To build a strong house, you want a solid foundation. To make a great meal, you want the best ingredients. To invoke an Elder God, you want ... uh ... maybe we better leave that for later. Anyway, you're going to take the plunge, it's worth it to buy a good wig. Here are some of our opinions about Choosing a Wig.

It may seem impossible, but there are some tricks for Wearing Wigs so they won't drive you crazy. (Yes, it has been pointed out that we're already crazy. Think of this as ways not to get any crazier. At least, not until that Elder God manifests itself ....)
What do you do once you've got your wigs the way that you want them? You'll need to find a place to keep them and a way to get them to the local anime con: Storage and Transport.
