- medical adhesive
- An stronger alternative to spirit gum, especially for those who are sensitive to the use of spirit gum. Use of medical adhesive remover is pretty much mandatory unless you want to peel your skin off along with the appliance.
- patch test
- A basic allergy / senstivity test: before applying a new product (makeup, latex, dye, etc.), apply a small patch of the product to the inside of your elbow or suitably small, discreet spot. If you develop a reaction to the product (swelling, redness, itch), do not use the product. Remember that most allergies become worse with repeated exposure.
- prosthetic
- An add-on (usually made of latex, foam rubber, or plastic) which is used to change your appearance. For example, "elf" ears or a hook nose.
- spirit gum
- An adhesive usually used to attach false moustaches, beards, latex appliances, etc. Generally useful for attaching things to the skin; if you're attaching something to an area with hair, shave first. Use of spirit gum remover is highly recommended. See also medical adhesive.
