Enter at your own peril!
Past the bolted door
Where impossible things may happen
That the world's never seen before ...

In the MOCHI Workshop.

Okay, we admit it. Our workshop has nothing on Dexter's lab. But Dexter (Boy Genius) is only trying to conquer the world. If you want to conquer the world and costume, you've got to make some hard choices. Even though Spiky Mochi cried about it for days afterwards, we just had to sell the giant laser to make room for the new cutting table ....

Anyway, feel free to wander the shop. These pages are about construction techniques. We aren't experts at this stuff: there are a lot of people who've got more time and talent in this arena. But when we first got started, we couldn't find a lot of resources out there for beginning costumers. These pages are a starting point, either to find out about a technique you haven't tried before or learn what not to try. (Not unless you really want to sacrifice your oven in the name of costuming progress ....)

We're in the process of fleshing out these sections!

The most basic section of the shop is devoted to Sewing: either altering pieces that you've bought or taking fabric and making something of your own. There's no way that you can cover the whole world of sewing on the web, but we've tried to point out a few highlights that are useful for cosplayers.

For those for who hold the idea of building their very own working mecha near and dear to their hearts -- or who like to build some of the more complex props -- head to the Crafting corner. (Mind your elbows when you go past the sheets of plastic.)

Some cosplay situations (like large masquerades and special costumes) may call for makeup. If the cosmetics counter seems daunting or you just can't find what you want (oh, like a pair of large elf ears), there may be something in the Makeup aisle for you.

The Library is really the true "core" of the workshop. Think of it as a pointer for building your own reference library, whether it be filled with books, magazines, articles, patterns, etc.
