Electric Knife

Like the toaster oven, this tool is an escapee from the kitchen. It's handy for cutting carpet and closed-cell foam. When you buy an electric knife, it comes in three parts: the handle and two blades. The blades hook together at a center point (so they can work together) and plug into the handle. When you press the trigger, the blades move back and forth, giving you a smooth and even cut.

This tool can handle much wider and thicker pieces of foam than a pair of scissors. With large pieces, scissors tend to "pinch" the edges as you cut. Besides, Spiky Mochi just loves that neat humming noise ...
