Safety Glasses

If you are going to be doing any costuming work involving tiny pieces of stuff flying in the air, you are going to need a set of safety glasses. Yeah, we know that they aren't exactly the most comfortable things in the world. But you might be surprised at how fast tiny shards of plastic can travel or the number of sparks you make when drilling out rivets. A basic set of glasses is pretty cheap (between $5 to $10). We've seen pairs sold in all sorts of colors, like red, amber, and reflective blue which are used for working outdoors.
