[Scan of a pair of needlenose pliers]

Needlenose Pliers

These are a lot like regular pliers, except that the "pincers" are much thinner and often much longer. They are extremely useful in small spaces or for doing very delicate work. For example, Daifuku Mochi has used them to set small gemstones and sequins into little dots of hot glue.

Some needlenose pliers have completely rounded pincers. These are not really designed to grip or hold onto things. They are designed for jewelry work. You use the ends to make small loops of wire.
