Yomiko Readman

• From: Read or Die (OAV/TV).
• Materials: Corduroy (jacket), synthetic moleskin (jacket and vest), wool gabardine (skirt). White dress shirt and men's red silk tie.
• Design notes: There were two pieces that needed to be designed: the neck collar "flap" and the vest (which has a seam running right below the bustline and front "points"). Thankfully, these were relatively simple.
• Construction notes: Getting the collar to lie right was a serious pain. The muslin mockup had a different weight than the actual fabric, which made the front edge "sag" the first few time the collar was put in.
• Additional notes:This is a nice costume for just walking around: it's got plenty of nice pockets for holding books, badges, wallets, and other goodies.
