• From: Sakura Taisen (video game / OAV).
• Materials: stretch fabric (leggings), acetate (ascot), decorator piping (trim), decorator trim (trim - spirals and piping ), leather (belt), multi-surface paint (trim on boots). Worn with a white dress blouse and (altered) short black leather boots.
• Design notes: The jacket for this costume is made with the pattern in the Sakura Taisen artbook, with adjustments. Paint was used for the gold "trim" and "toe caps" of the boots: using trim on the top of the boot and paint for just the toe cap was rejected because of the difference in color (we felt that the boot alterations should all be the same color).
• Construction notes: The "spirals" are made by curling the gold braid trim, using hot glue to keep them in place. They are then sewn onto the jacket.
• Additional notes:
