Sakuyamon

• From: Digimon Tamers (Digimon TV Season 3)
• Materials: Paper mache, posterboard, wire, craft foam (armor). Spandex stretch blend (jumpsuit). Insulation sheeting (back "wings"). Satin (gloves). Vinyl boots, more satin, template plastic (boots). Craft foam, acrylic paint in a fabric medium (detailing)
• Design notes: There are annoyingly few good picture references for this character. Unlike many other shows, there are rarely settei (animator references) or other head-to-toe pictures for this show (let alone this character). The design is a fusion of what could be gleaned from a few animation clips, the Sakuyamon action figure, and some fan art.
• Construction notes: The helmet is based on a welder's mask. (This was much cheaper than buying a new baseball helmet to cut apart.) Thin strips of posterboard were used to make a "wireframe" that was later filled in with the paper mache.
• Additional notes:This costume has extremely low visibility. The high heels don't help when it comes to navigating narrow corridors or stairwells.
