Nami

• From: Silent Mobius (manga / TV).
• Materials: a ton of white cotton (in light and heavy weights), white satin, red ribbon, zori.
• Design notes: There is some fusion here between the manga and the TV design. Her top robe (the one with the detached sleeves) is sometimes shown with a sharp taper in the center part. This ended up looking goofy and we kept with the more rectangular design, which works better with the classic Japanese look.
• Construction notes: The hakama pleats are sewn in along the edges to help them keep their shape.
• Additional notes: There are two robes: the "top" robe has the sleeves that are tacked in at two points and an "under" robe. The central part of the top robe is lightly reinforced with an extremely light-weight fusible interfacing so the shoulder parts stand away from the body.
